Qur’anic Competition: Emir Bayero Asks Youths To Seek Knowledge

Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has called on the teeming youths in the country to widen the frontiers of their knowledge by exploiting every available opportunity at their disposal.

The emir made the call during the first Qur’anic recitation competition organised by the Sheikh Ishaku Rabiu international Islamic Foundation held at the Auditorium of the School yesterday in Kano.

According to the emir education is the most precious endowment any reasonable parent will like to bequeath as a legacy to his heirs after his little sojourn on earth.

He described education especially the mastery of the Qu’ran as very rewarding here on earth and in the hereafter.
Bayero who personally donated one million naira to those who participated in the competition and the panel of judges noted the way females are trying to overtake men in search of knowledge.

Speaking earlier the Kano State governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje who was represented by Alhaji Yahuza Gwani Danzarga said there is the need for institutions like this to continue to sustain and maintain the teaching and recitation of the Qu’ran to the best of their ability.

“Whatever is done to commemorate the late Sheikh Ishaku Rabiu is commendable given the kind of role he played during his life time as a role model in spending his hard earn money in boosting Islam and the Holy book,” he said.

Ganduje said history would never forget him and pray that Allah (SWT) should reward him most abundantly.
On his part, one of the senior sons of late Ishaku Rabiu Alhaji Rabiu Isiaku Rabiu who is popularly known as Alhaji Karami expressed happiness on the way and manner the best of Qu’ranic reciters from within and outside the state despite their tight schedules attended the historic event.
