Nigerian beauty queen, doctorate student shot dead by unknown gunman


A former Nigerian beauty queen, Najeebat Sule, has been shot dead in the United States of America.

According to Daily mail, the 24-year-old was gunned down by an unknown man while sitting in her car in front of her family’s home at 8800 block of Frankford Avenue on March 12, 2021.

It was gathered that the father of the deceased, Adewale Sule, recalled that he heard the gunfire and rushed out from the house towards the scene.

He said, “I saw the guy shooting my daughter. He shot the last round and I pursued him. He ran back to his car.”

The mother, Tawakalitu Sule, said she spoke with her daughter less than 2 hours before the shooting.

She said her 2 younger daughters cry everyday because of their big sister whom they really miss.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Police have not made any arrest since the incident happened on March 12.

The deceased, Sule, had recently earned a master’s degree in public health from West Chester University and was pursuing a doctorate.

In 2019, she emerged second runner-up at the Miss Nigeria International pageant
