The newly installed 11th president, Rotary Club of Nnewi Central, Archbishop Kene Ifepe has promised that there would be no dull moment during his 2023-2024 service year, articulating his programmes to include what he called “dust to desk” project for primary school pupils in Nnewi and Ozubulu communities.
The Rotarian who addressed journalists at Dabara Hotel and Suits, Ozubulu Road, Umudim Nnewi during the installation ceremony said other projects were also lined up to make his leadership as a Rotarian felt within his area of jurisdiction and beyond.
Ifepe took over from Ogechukwu Ofomata. He shared the philosophy that Rotarians should not think of what Rotary could do for them but what they could do to make Rotary a better club where men and women, boys and girls would desire to belong.
“About three years ago, then the Chairman of the People’s Club of Nigeria International, Toronto branch I was introduced by my elder sister, Mrs Ada Edward to the Rotary Club. I immediately fell in love with the ideology of service above self.
“It truly reflected my life view as I was already fascinated by humanitarian work through my foundation ‘The Miles Stars Foundation’. I was further fascinated by the fact that transparency and accountability were the modus operandi of the Rotary Club.
“It’s my honour and privilege to serve as a president of this club. I promise that in my year this club will perform exceedingly well with new heights being attained.
